THE TEAM NEWS

BANGLA TIGERS

  • Bangla Tigers continued their good form on Tuesday as they picked up another win against Team Abu Dhabi as their batsmen laid the foundations for the 27-run victory after posting 129/3 from their 10 overs.
  • Andre Fletcher hit 42 from 16 balls and Rilee Rossouw was unbeaten on 44 from 21 balls as the two openers combined for seven sixes and this was arguably the team’s best batting performance of the tournament so far.
  • In many ways it was also their best bowling performance as Qais Ahmad took 3/8 from his two overs and they will rely heavily on him to make inroads into opposition batting line-ups as otherwise they do look short on wicket-takers coming into this game in which they could go unchanged.

NORTHERN WARRIORS

  • After two defeats in a row, Northern Warriors bounced back in style on Tuesday as they beat Delhi Bulls by six wickets with one over to spare as Nichola Pooran announced his arrival in style smashing an unbeaten half century.
  • The arrival of Pooran and Lendl Simmons gives them a major boost in the batting line-up an reduces the reliance on Andre Russell and Darren Sammy, so there will likely be more fireworks to come from this batting department.
  • Chris Green continues to be one of the more underrated players in the shorter formats of the game and he was key in the victory on Tuesday as he took 3/8 from his two overs, so there is a good chance he will open the bowling once again.

THE PREDICTION

The T10 League in Abu Dhabi is difficult to predict at the best of times but the Northern Warriors are a real Jekyll and Hyde team. They are a boom or bust team, but they may find more consistency now that they have Pooran and Simmons in the batting order and more matchwinners in their ranks. They will relish facing the Bangla Tigers who are in good form, and while they are hardly underdogs, they will want to stamp their authority on the tournament and they can win this one.
