THE TEAM NEWS
CANTERBURY KINGS
- Canterbury Kings maintained their excellent run of form thanks to overcoming Auckland Aces for the second time in succession and their winning streak now stands at four matches in the Super Smash.
- The Kings were bowled for 154 in their second outing against the Aces but did what was required with the ball to limit their opponents to 136/7 from their 20 overs to record an 18-run success.
NORTHERN BRAVE
- Northern Brave continue to top the ladder in the Super Smash thanks to a phenomenal winning streak with that now standing at six matches after seeing off Wellington last time out.
- It was not straightforward for the Brave despite needing just 105 to win and they only achieved the feat with six balls remaining but they know they have lots of room for improvement.
THE PREDICTION
This should be a superb clash between two in-form teams but a winning
streak will have to end at its conclusion. Canterbury Kings have won
their last four while it is six straight wins for Northern Brave who
continue to set the standard in the tournament. The pair played out a
thrilling contest in their most recent matchup with the Brave edging
that by just a solitary wicket and while this should be a close-run
thing once again, the top of the ladder side should be able to extend
their winning run to seven.
