THE TEAM NEWS

PAKISTAN

  • Pakistan made it three wins from three despite stuttering against Afghanistan in their latest contest and they needed some brilliance from Asif Ali to turn the game in their favour.
  • Asif whacked four sixes in the penultimate over of the match to turn the game on its head but they will need to be better moving forward with tougher challenges to come, although they will be confident of seeing off Namibia even if they decide to rotate.

NAMIBIA

  • Namibia were unable to build on their win over Scotland in their opening match of Group 2 as they were comfortably defeated by Afghanistan and this is a daunting prospect for them as they take on unbeaten Pakistan.
  • There were some solid individual efforts once again with David Wiese continuing to play an important role for his side but they will need to be better as a team if they are to get anywhere near the Pakistanis.

THE PREDICTION

Pakistan found a different way to win as they edge Afghanistan in their most recent game and that will be a worry for the rest of the competition. They were underwhelming in that contest but did enough to secure a third straight success and remain unbeaten at the T20 World Cup. Namibia are the latest side to try and get the better of them but there is a huge gulf in class between the two and it should be telling. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam continue to shine and it would be a surprise if one of that opening pairing failed to finish as Pakistan’s top batsman in this clash.
