China played out a thriller against Czechia that was ultimately decided in overtime, the Chinese ultimately coming out on top 74-70. A brilliant performance from Han Xu proved to be the difference, the 25-year-old New York Liberty center racking up 22 points and 14 rebounds in an instrumental showing.
Italy will need to find a way of nullifying Xu. But after holding the formidable USA to just 55 points in a three-point-defeat underlines their toughness off the ball and hard defence. If they can drag China into the trenches and be clinical when they get their chances, then the Italians may do enough to come out on top here.
