Benfica are fast establishing themselves as a genuine contender in this season’s Europa League. After racing through the qualification rounds, Marco Silva’s side made a statement in Italy with a 0-2 victory against AC Milan in the opening round of league phase fixtures. They’ll be expected to maintain this scorching hot start in Europe at home to Celtic.

The Scottish champions were beaten 1-3 by Hungarian side Ferencvaros last time out and it has been a miserable European campaign for them so far following their meltdown and elimination in the Champions League play-off round at the hands of LASK.
