Australia vs Oman prediction

It’s been an utter disaster of a Men’s T20 World Cup for Australia, who have been eliminated with a game to spare after losing two of their three Group B fixtures played so far, including a historic 23-run loss at the hands of Zimbabwe, who are set to qualify for the Super 8s as their expense. The Aussies have struggled with conditions in the subcontinent, losing ten wickets on two separate occasions whilst their bowling attack was flayed to all parts by Sri Lanka and Pathum Nissanka last Monday. Nissanka’s unbeaten hundred helped sentence Australia to an eight-wicket defeat against the joint-tournament hosts.

Oman are without a win or even a point in Group B, losing three from three and they are set to come up against an in-form world class batter looking to send a message. Despite averaging 60 in the recently concluded BBL for Sydney Sixers, Steve Smith was overlooked by the Australian selectors and his call-up as cover for the injured Mitchell has come too late to save them. Smith will probably be the most motivated of any Australia player expected to feature in this match and backing him to top score may prove a shrewd play.
