THE TEAM NEWS

HULL KR

Head Coach: Tony Smith

Squad: Addy, Atkin, Crooks, Drinkwater, Garbutt, Hall, Hauraki, Johnson, Keinhorst, Lawler, Linnett, Livett, Masoe, McGuire, Mulhern, Murray, Quinlan, Shaw, Tomkins

Unavailable: James Greenwood, Matt Parcell

  • Hull KR bounced back from their big loss at Wigan as they secured a huge victory against fellow strugglers Leeds last week but face another important game against another side in the mix for relegation in Huddersfield.
  • Rovers are sweating on news regarding on-loan Leeds hooker Matt Parcell who could be out for the season with a shoulder injury but he will give his issue some time to calm down before it is determined whether or not he needs surgery.
  • He will be missing for at least the next three weeks whilst he undergoes rehab on the injury but Danny Addy is back from an injury of his own this week and comes back into the 19-man squad in the only change for Rovers.

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS

Head Coach: Simon Woolford

Squad: English, Frawley, Gaskell, Holmes, Ikahihifo, Lawrence, Leeming, McGilvary, Matagi, McIntosh, Mellor, Murphy, O’Brien, L. Senior, I. Senior, Ta’ai, Walne, Ja. Wardle, Wilson

Unavailable: Akuila Uate, Joe Wardle, Dale Ferguson, Leroy Cudjoe, Jordan Turner, Oliver Roberts, Paul Clough

  • Huddersfield were drawn back into relegation trouble as they fell to defeat at home to Catalans with their late comeback falling short and another loss here to Hull KR would mean real problems for the Giants.
  • The Giants may look to make some changes to their side this week with Matt Frawley pushing for a spot in the starting XIII whilst Adam Walne will come back into the side following a long injury lay-off.
  • Fellow prop Matty English will also come back into contention after he was rested last week but Paul Clough has joined the Huddersfield injury list and will drop out after suffering a broken hand.

THE PREDICTION

Hull KR will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins as they look to build on their superb win over Leeds last week. They host another side struggling at the wrong end of the table in Huddersfield who have won just one of their last six and Rovers can leapfrog them with a win here. The Giants have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league all season with nobody knowing what they are going to produce from one week to the next but it is difficult to see them toppling Hull KR if they put in the same level of performance that they managed in their win over Leeds last week.
