THE TEAM NEWS
MARATHA ARABIANS
Coach: Wasim Akram
Captain: Rashid Khan
- The Maratha Arabians will face the Bengal Tigers who they beat in the first eliminator on Saturday by seven wickets although they will have to bounce back from their mauling against the Northern Warriors which they played after that match.
- The batting has been the area of the team that has been producing the goods in the last week more than the bowling, but they failed miserably trying to s et the Warriors a big score and they stuttered to 72/8 as their batting unit struggled under the pressure to set a big total.
- Rotations are highly likely after playing two matches on Saturday so it would be no surprise to see the likes of Badrinath come into the side for this match although they will want to end on a high note.
BENGAL TIGERS
Coach: Stephen Fleming
Captain: Sam Billings
- The Bengal Tigers were frustrated to lose to the Arabians in the Eliminator on Saturday so they will seek revenge here in an attempt to finish third in the second edition of the T10 Cricket League.
- Narine and Nabi have been holding the team together with both bat and ball in the last couple of matches as a number of their batsmen like Wright, Billings and Rutherford have failed to produce.
- They too will likely consider one or two changes for this third-place match in both batting and bowling as they have been found wanting in the last two matches so some of their fringe players may be given a chance.
THE PREDICTION
So much depends on which team has the greater motivation for this third-place match which has little riding on it. The Arabians comfortably beat the Tigers in the Eliminator on Saturday but they had to play two matches on the same day which could take its toll. The Tigers are struggling with bat and ball at the moment, and one has to give the Arabians a slight edge, although this is one to enjoy with so many uncertainties over selections and motivation.
