Alex de Minaur vs Laslo Djere prediction

Alex de Minaur’s best run on clay this season was at his first event in the middle of April. He made the semi-finals of Monte-Carlo but lost to Lorenzo Musetti in a close three set match. The Australian has failed to reach the same heights since then but has still done a fine job of getting through the early rounds. He also picked up a quarter-final appearance at the Barcelona Open where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz but he would have been disappointed by his round-of-16 loss to Tommy Paul in his last event in Rome.

Laslo Djere has struggled with injury since picking up the Chile Open title at the end of February. He showed his undoubted quality last time out, making the third-round and going a break up in the first set against Alcaraz. Unfortunately for the Serbian, the four-time Grand Slam champion broke back and took the set before racing clear in the second. The Serbian was visibly struggling at the end of the match but passed himself fit for this slam.

De Minaur is able to outlast anyone on tour and while Djere is not the easiest first-round opponent, we can’t see anything other than a victory for the number nine seed.
