Afghanistan vs Canada prediction

Hopes would’ve been high for Afghanistan to potentially make a really deep run in the Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026 with the matches being played in the sub-continent, but it’s been a hugely frustrating campaign for Rashid Khan’s side, losing to both New Zealand and South Africa. It was the latter which proved a real killer, coming out the wrong end of a second Super Over. Despite beating UAE last time out, it unfortunately came too late for Afghanistan and this final group game for them is a dead rubber.

Canada haven’t managed to pick up a victory so far in Group D, one of only three nations at the time of writing not to have won a single group stage fixture. Whilst Afghanistan are clear favourites to win, the shrewd move may be to target all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who is enjoying a hugely potent group stage with the ball. He’s picked up seven wickets in his last two appearances including a four-wicket-haul against UAE. It’s worth backing him to finish as his side’s top bowler for a third game running.

Afghanistan vs Canada tip: Afghanistan - Top Bowler - Azmatullah Omarzai
