Wolves vs Bolton Wanderers prediction

Wolves suffered a set-back at the weekend, losing a tight encounter by a goal to nil away at Middlesbrough, only their second Championship defeat of the season. However, both those losses came on the road whilst at Molineux, Wolves are among the toughest opponents in the division. They’ve got more strength-in-depth than most clubs, which works to their advantage in midweek fixtures such as these, especially against a newly promoted side like Bolton.

Whilst the Trotters were beaten last time out by ten-man Stoke City to end a run of two straight wins, Bolton have found their feet at this level it seems and will be very tough to break down here. Expect plenty of Wolves possession and a lot of patience will be needed among the home support as Bolton try to soak up pressure and pack bodies behind the ball. Backing a low-scoring match feels like a worthwhile play.

However, the superior quality of Wolves and in particular, their pace on the flanks should see them eventually find a way through and edge past Bolton.

Wolves vs Bolton Wanderers tip: Wolves to win and under 3.5 goals
