United States vs Scotland prediction
If United States end up finishing inside the top two of Pool B, their 1-1 draw against Argentina will have been absolutely crucial to their progression. Entering the game as firm underdogs, USA never gave up and despite falling behind, rallied to level things in the 27th minute. An excellent defensive performance with great goalkeeping then saw United States keep the Argentines at bay, holding the two-time world champions to a point.
Scotland meanwhile, were comprehensively beaten by Germany. It was expected that the Germans would prove far too strong and that was the case, with the Scots unable to contain such a good squad and ultimately going down by three goals to nil. Whilst this match should be a closer affair, United States’ defence showed that they are more than capable of snuffing out Scotland after holding Argentina to just one goal. This makes backing a resilient USA to triumph the smart move.
