Netherlands vs Argentina prediction
Netherlands would have been expected to get the better of world number six Spain, but their defence let them down badly in the semi-finals and the Spanish capitalised, a Jose Maria Basterra hat-trick leading them to a 3-4 win. Argentina also fell to European opposition, losing 2-1 to Germany in a very close encounter where the South American side just couldn’t find a way through the tough German defence in the latter stages.
This contest should prove to be more open with it being a third-placed match as opposed to the World Cup final. Netherlands are the superior team and have already beaten Argentina once in this tournament, a 1-3 triumph in the first round. They’ll be expected to do so again on this occasion, so back the Dutch to secure bronze.
