England vs Australia prediction
England’s story at this World Cup will always be one of “what if”. The third-ranked team in the world heading into the tournament, Zak Jones’ side started off brilliantly with three wins from three, defeating Pakistan, India and Wales in round one. But things all fell apart in round two, as performances dipped at the worst possible time. Against formidable opposition in Argentina and Netherlands, England fell short with just a point gained, leaving them on the outside looking in.
Australia also topped their pool in the first round but four points in the second round wasn’t enough with Spain advancing over the Kookaburra’s on goal difference. These two sides are well-matched but England do look to have that extra firepower in attack, with slightly better individual players. With that in mind, back them to get the better of Australia.
