Uros Medic: "The Doctor" aims for another surgical KO finish
Serbian finisher, Uros Medic (13-3), takes the main event slot in front of a hometown crowd, following the biggest win of his career when he obliterated Geoff Neal with a left hook from hell in February, earning his third performance bonus with the promotion to boot. Combining a frenetic pace with dynamite in his fists, Medic is currently riding a three fight win streak, with all three of those victories coming by KO in the opening round. Posting a 7-3 record in ten fights with the promotion, “The Doctor” originally joined the UFC as a lightweight, but has been at 170 since 2023.
Daniel Rodriguez: How will "D-Rod" look after a chaotic year on the sidelines?
Returning for his first fight since an eight month stint in a Mexican prison for marijuana possession, it’s been a crazy year for Daniel Rodriguez (20-5). Currently riding a three fight win streak, “D-Rod” earned an upset victory against Kevin Holland at UFC 318 in his last fight, with both fighters trading knockdowns in a high-paced war to push his UFC record to 10-4. Primarily a striker, Rodriguez operates mainly out of the southpaw stance, using a crisp jab to set up powerful boxing combinations. He’s no slouch on the ground either, having earned his purple belt under Eddie Bravo with the renowned 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu gym.
Uros Medic vs Daniel Rodriguez prediction
Medic is on an absolute tear right now, but he’s by no means guaranteed to blow through Rodriguez.
Geoff Neal is an impressive victory, but “Handz of Steel” also looks to be much diminished as a fighter in big 2026. Before that, Medic stopped Muslim Salikhov and Gilbert Urbina; a 42 year old veteran and a 1-3 UFC fighter who has been finished in every loss he’s had with the promotion. Rodriguez has sneaky power and Medic is only a year and a half removed from getting KO’d by unranked competition in the form of Punahele Soriano.
With that being said, we’re still riding with Medic here. Rodriguez is nearly 40 years old and spent the vast majority of the last year in a Mexican prison; not exactly the optimal conditions to prolong an aging athlete’s career. “D-Rod” has only ever been stopped with strikes once, but that loss came against Ian Garry, a fighter not known for his KO power. Medic might lack “The Future’s” finesse on the feet, but he clearly hits harder. Rodriguez also got dropped by Kevin Holland in his last fight, another ill omen in the face of a power puncher like Medic. He might be riding a three fight win streak but two of those wins came against Alex Morono and Santiago Ponzinibbio; two fighters far past their best.
If Rodriguez can survive the early onslaught, this could get interesting. However, I don’t think it’s going to get that far.
Prediction: Uros Medic to win by first round KO
