Nina Milosevic: "Queen Beast" looks to make a statement in her first UFC fight

Undefeated since a split decision loss in her pro debut, Nina Milosevic (8-1) is one of the most exciting prospects the shallow women’s bantamweight division has seen in years. Turning professional after a decorated amateur career that saw her take gold in the IMMAF World Championships, the Serbian has five finishes in eight wins, boasting an extremely well-rounded skillset and excellent fight IQ. While she’s slightly undersized for the division at 5’5”, “Queen Beast” has looked pretty unstoppable on the regional circuit and has an excellent coach behind her in the form of Renato Subotic.

Hailey Cowan: Can the Texan cash in as a major underdog and avoid a pink slip?

Currently riding a three fight losing streak in a run that includes a weight miss and two stoppage defeats, Hailey Cowan (7-5) is likely fighting for her job on Saturday night. The 34 year old Texan has yet to earn a victory in the UFC after graduating to the promotion via the Contender Series back in 2022, with multiple fight cancellations further slowing her momentum along the way. A former flyweight who used to leverage her edge in physicality to outmuscle her opponents, “All Hail” has suffered since moving up to 135 pounds, with her size advantage no longer playing as prominent a factor in her performances.

Nina Milosevic vs Hailey Cowan prediction

This is one of the easiest fights on the entire card to call. Cowan has historically done her best work when she’s able to wrestle her opponents to the mat; an approach that doesn’t figure to be the best way forward against Milosevic.

While she’s the smaller lady in this matchup, “Queen Beast” is an exemplary grappler who completely locks herself into top position once she secures the takedown. From there, she will drop heavy, accurate strikes, racking up points on the scorecards and chipping away until her opponent wilts and opens up avenues for the stoppage.

“Hail Mary” might be big, but she’s not exactly a KO artist either. While she’s not as powerful as Cowan, Milosevic has the cleaner, more technical striking of the two women, meaning that even if she isn’t able to get the American to the ground, I like her chances to win a point striking battle at range. With that being said, given the Serbian’s excellent wrestling, I don’t expect this one to stay standing for too long

Barring a complete lapse in fight IQ or gassing out in search of an early finish, I think “Queen Beast” looks like easy money here. The pick is Milosevic by dominant decision.

Prediction: Nina Milosevic to win by decision
