Open poll and results

Brendan Allen: Can "All In" maintain his relevance in a stacked middleweight division?

A mainstay of the middleweight rankings, Brendan Allen (27-7) remains one of the tougher tests that the middleweight division has to offer. Notwithstanding a TKO defeat to Chris Curtis, "All In" has only lost to the upper echelon at 185 pounds, posting a 15-4 UFC record to underline his standing in the division. He's fought some of the best contenders at middleweight and has had some solid success in those bouts even when he came up short. The American has serviceable striking, but it's on the ground that he really excels; a BJJ black belt, Allen has excellent control to complement solid GNP and a particularly efficient rear naked choke.

Christian Leroy Duncan: Will "CLD" earn the biggest win of his career?

Currently riding a five fight win streak, Christian Leroy Duncan (15-2) looks to have come into his own following a shaky start to his UFC career. A flashy, dynamic striker with superb kicks and legitimate KO power, the Englishman has been on a tear recently, with "CLD" dispatching the likes of Marco Tulio, Roman Dolidze, and Jared Cannonier to score the biggest name victories of his career. 8-2 under the UFC banner, the former Cage Warriors champion hasn't lost since a one-sided defeat to Gregory Rodrigues back in 2024 and enters this matchup hoping to crack the Top 5 at middleweight for the first time with an impressive performance.

Brendan Allen vs Christian Leroy Duncan prediction

Allen made it worryingly close against Edmen Shahbazyan last time out, but I think he’s still good enough to get this one done.

Duncan is clearly the much better of the pair on the feet in this matchup, but Allen’s awkward style has seen him hang tough against well-versed strikers before. While he does get wobbled fairly frequently, he has a solid chin and has proven pretty difficult to put away.

I think Duncan’s tendency to spin could really get him into trouble here; when he turns his back, he’s wide open to getting taken down. Even in victory, “CLD” tends to get taken down with alarming frequency, with his takedown defence standing at 57%. Allen isn’t Khamzat Chimaev but he’s the type of fighter who will relentlessly pursue the wrestling if he finds early success.

I just didn’t see enough out of Duncan in his last fight to convince me to pick him here; I think you need to be finishing a 42 year old Jared Cannonier if you’re going to beat “All In,” who has only lost to the elite of the division outside of a bizarre loss to Chris Curtis. “CLD” is a live dog to land something spectacular and follow up for the finish, but we’re going with Allen by decision here.

Prediction: Brendan Allen to win by decision
