Adam Fugitt: Can the veteran play spoiler and defy the odds?
Making his first appearance since a devastating first round KO loss at the hands of Islam Dulatov last July, Adam Fugitt (10-5) returns looking to improve his promotional record to 3-3. The American has had a rough go of things since joining the promotion back in 2022, alternating wins and losses to post a 2-3 record across five fights. Fighting an array of top welterweight prospects, he hasn’t exactly had the easiest strength of schedule either, coming up short Michael Morales and Mike Malott in addition to the aforementioned Dulatov. However, his losses have raised questions about his durability considering that he’s been stopped in every UFC defeat to date, to say nothing of a nasty KO loss on the regional circuit in the early stages of his career.
Ty Miller: "Thriller" makes his UFC debut in search of his seventh professional victory
Punching his ticket to the UFC via the Contender Series in August, Ty Miller (6-0, 1 NC) enters the promotion looking to maintain his undefeated record. Earning a contract with a unanimous decision over Jimmy Drago, “Thriller” is best known for a KOTY contender over Ryan Charlebois in LFA back in 2024, flattening his fellow prospect with a vicious series of punches and follow up shots. Despite Miller’s reputation as a power puncher, he’s only scored finishes in two professional bouts to date, but that’s not necessarily cause for concern. The American’s well-rounded skillset and fight IQ means that he’s capable of finding other routes to victory when the finish doesn’t materialize.
Adam Fugitt vs Ty Miller prediction
It’s not hard to see what the UFC wants to happen here. Miller is being slotted into a very winnable match up to hype up the Contender Series class of 2025, while simultaneously underlining what a shrewd investment in martial arts talent that Paramount has clearly made.
With the greatest of respect, Fugitt is far from elite. Both of his UFC wins have come over competitors who are no longer with the promotion, and he’s been brutally finished every time he comes up against a vaguely decent fighter. He’s also 37 years old with a considerable amount of wear and tear on the tires, taking on an undefeated fighter who appears to be entering his athletic prime.
Miller may not have the most finishes on his record, but his decimation of Charlebois proved that he clearly possesses nasty KO power. Moreover, his ability to win decisions at this young stage in his career as opposed to relying on blowing his opponents out of the water early indicates that it’s a question of “how?” rather than “will?” he win his UFC debut.
“Thriller” either blasts Fugitt into unconsciousness or earns a clear cut decision to kick off the Paramount era.
Prediction: Ty Miller to win
