TOMAS MARTIN ETCHEVERRY VS LUCIANO DARDERI PREDICTION
It seems likely that the winner of the Lyon Open will come from this semi-final clash between world number 29 Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who reached the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros last summer, or Luciano Darderi, who claimed his maiden ATP title at the Cordoba Open on clay in February.
Darderi will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 40th after an excellent week so far in Lyon and he will be the fresher of the two in this first encounter after Arthur Rinderknech pulled out of their quarter-final on Thursday.
24-year-old Etcheverry made short work of beating Dominik Koepfer to back-up a strong showing against Thiago Seyboth Wild but he will have to play the game and not the occasion against this exciting up-and-comer, with Darderi likely to pull neutrals to his cause. The sensible way to avoid a full result here is probably backing Etcheverry to earn at least a set but this is well worth keeping from accumulators in any case.
