THE PREDICTION

Both players here will set new career-high ATP world rankings after first round wins in Bucharest, with 23-year-old Mariano Navone set to break inside the top 50 and 24-year-old Thiago Seyboth Wild moving up to 62nd in the live rankings. Navone continued his excellent breakthrough season with a straight-sets victory over Cordoba Open champion Luciano Darderi on Monday, backing-up his run to the semi-finals of the Marrakech Open two weeks ago, and he should be considered a dark horse for the title this week after finishing runner-up to Sebastian Baez in Rio back in February.

Seyboth Wild, however, brings excellent form from impressive runs to the third rounds of both Indian Wells and Miami last month, stunning Karen Khachanov and Taylor Fritz along the way. The Brazilian overcame in-form Luca Nardi in a three-hour marathon match on Monday on his return to clay but Navone has exited each of his last two tournaments on this surface to the eventual winner to look the likelier of two very capable victors. Back Navone to win at least a set to leave the result up to chance.

TIP: MARIANO NAVONE TO WIN A SET
