21-year-old Qinwen Zheng changed the course of her young career with a fabulous run to the Australian Open final in January, where she finished runner-up to Aryna Sabalenka to set a career-high WTA world ranking of seventh. The Chinese has enjoyed a brilliant past two seasons on tour overall but she has so far struggled, understandably, to cope with the new-found pressure on her shoulders and she was forced to retire injured last time out against Yulia Putintseva in Madrid to suggest there is some physical wear and tear too. Former number 30 Shelby Rogers knows all about physical wear and tear as she comes back from another lengthy injury lay-off. The 31-year-old has won in the first round in each of her last five tournaments now to show steady progress in her rehabilitation but she has failed to win back-to-back matches since last April to offer Zheng a useful start. Back the Chinese to win.
