THE PREDICTION
27-year-old Sebastian Ofner will break inside the top 40 on tour for the first time after an excellent straight-sets result over Roberto Bautista Agut backed-up two impressive wins over Mackenzie McDonald and Jan-Lennard Struff. The Austrian announced himself as an up-and-comer with a huge run to the round of 16 at Roland-Garros last June but he has since proven himself on hardcourts too to suggest a maiden title is in the offing in 2024. 24-year-old Emil Ruusuvuori is certainly due a first trophy of his own after several strong seasons on tour but 2023 was one to forget for the Finn, who is far better than his current ranking of 69th suggests.
Ruusuvuori stunned second seed Karen Khachanov in three sets on Wednesday before a surprising straight-sets result over in-form Pavel Kotov, making this a very difficult call indeed. There has been at least one tiebreak in each of the Finn’s matches this week, whilst Ofner saw three in his fierce battle with Struff. Take at least one here to avoid a result altogether.
TIP: OVER 0.5 TIEBREAKS
