THE PREDICTION

World number 82 Cristian Garin looks like he could, finally, be coming back into some form after a frustrating couple of seasons on tour. The former number 17 reached the round of 16 at Indian Wells last week with upsets over seeds Casper Ruud and Yoshihito Nishioka and he started his Miami campaign off well on Thursday with a comeback over Marcos Giron. World number 33 Sebastian Baez won his second ATP title at the Cordoba Open on clay last month and he will be eager to return to the surface next month. The 22-year-old is well capable of becoming an all-court threat one day but his form on hardcourts over the last eight or so months has been less than ideal. The Argentine leads their head-to-head record 2-0 after recently beating Garin in straight sets at the Chile Open but the Chilean has improved since then, particularly in these conditions. Back Garin to win outright.
