The Greek has finished runner-up three times in Barcelona, including last season to the absent Carlos Alcaraz, and he should be considered a serious contender after hitting the ground running in straight sets against Sebastian Ofner on Wednesday to make it seven wins on the spin. World number 72 Roberto Carballes Baena upset 10th seed Lorenzo Musetti for a hugely impressive result on his favoured clay but he looks to have missed the boat against Tsitsipas, whose confidence is surging again after a poor two years.
