RICHARD GASQUET VS JANNIK SINNER PREDICTION

Former world number seven Richard Gasquet produced a vintage performance against an out-of-sorts Borna Coric on Sunday to thrill home fans on Suzanne-Lenglen. The 37-year-old has rowed back from retirement talk a few times in recent seasons but he was visibly emotional on Sunday as home fans showed their appreciation of his straight-sets victory and, if this is to be his last campaign, it has already been a worthy one.

World number two Jannik Sinner suffered a concerning hip injury at the Madrid Open earlier this month but he looked assured in a straight-sets victory over Christopher Eubanks on Monday. The 22-year-old has played down his chances at making it back-to-back Grand Slam titles after his incredible assault on the Australian Open in January but, barring more fitness issues, he looks well capable of playing himself into form to look the main title contender alongside Alexander Zverev.

Sinner leads Gasquet 2-0 in their head-to-head and, despite Gasquet taking a set in their last meeting at Halle last summer, he should have enough to come through in straight sets here. The Italian has moved into first place in the live ATP world rankings and he can stay there to set another milestone if he significantly out-performs Novak Djokovic this fortnight.

RICHARD GASQUET VS JANNIK SINNER TIP: JANNIK SINNER TO WIN 3-0
