OLGA DANILOVIC VS DONNA VEKIC PREDICTION
World number 125 Olga Danilovic has always showed plenty of potential on her favoured clay but she has endured more than her fair share of injuries. The 23-year-old came back from a set down to overcome an admittedly exhausted-looking Danielle Collins on Thursday but beating former semi-finalist Martina Trevisan in the first round is no fluke.
World number 40 Donna Vekic is yet to drop a set after beating 18th seed Marta Kostyuk in assured fashion yesterday, backing up an opener via Lesia Tsurenko’s retirement. The 27-year-old is a big threat on all courts at her best but clay is probably her least effective, although she has reached at least the round of 16 at all four Grand Slams.
That experience could see Vekic edge this tough first encounter with Danilovic but back the intense Serb to earn at least a set on momentum to leave the result up to chance.
