World number 19 Veronika Kudermetova brings a concerning 3-6 record into Indian Wells after a very poor start to the season by her standards but it would be a surprise to see her fail to progress from this kind opening fixture. Leave this match well away from an accumulator as the Russian’s current level is hard to quantify but otherwise back her to build on a first round victory in Dubai last month with a straight-sets result here.
