THE PREDICTION

World number 43 Mirra Andreeva turns 17 years old today and she will be doubly celebrated, home-from-home style, as a rising star who burst onto the scene at this tournament one year ago. The Russian has emulated her remarkable debut run to the round of 16 with a statement straight-sets victory over Marketa Vondrousova, backing-up strong results over Linda Noskova and Taylor Townsend, and it took eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka to stop her 12 months ago. 2

8-year-old Jasmine Paolini will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 12th after storming past Caroline Garcia on Sunday, conceding just six games in her two matches so far. The Italian enjoyed an incredible run to a maiden Masters title in Dubai back in February but she was slightly fortunate to avoid a match with a withdrawing Elena Rybakina, who beat her in three sets en-route to the Stuttgart Open title last week. A first meeting between the two looks set to be a lengthy scrap but beating Vondrousova on clay is no mean feat. Take Andreev to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.

TIP: MIRRA ANDREEVA TO WIN A SET
