THE PREDICTION

World number 25 Tallon Griekspoor is the second seed this week in Bucharest, receiving a bye to the round of 16 after a solid week at the Monte-Carlo Open. The Dutchman won his first two ATP titles last season, on hardcourt in Pune and grass at home in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, but he is an excellent all-courter with the form to make him a genuine title contender this week.

World number 82 Marton Fuscovics should not be underestimated as another player with a game for all occasions but the Hungarian has struggled to string enough good wins together to make a deep run for some time. A straight-sets opener over Valentin Vacherot was an expected but solid start to his Bucharest campaign on Tuesday but Griekspoor has needed the likes of Alexander Zverev, Jannik Sinner and Alex de Minaur to oust him from his last three tournaments. Fuscovics leads their head-to-head 2-0, notably, having never dropped a set to the Dutchman but back Griekspoor to get a win on the board this time.

TIP: TALLON GRIEKSPOOR TO WIN
