World number 74 Marton Fucsovics beat Pedro Cachin in straight sets on Wednesday for a solid opener as he continues to enjoy a resurgent run of form. The 31-year-old endured a horrid season last year but he began 2023 with a Challenger title in Canberra and he has since impressed with victories over Alex de Minaur and J.J. Wolf on his way to the round of 16 at Indian Wells last time out. Fucsovics will thrive on any drama Rune inadvertently causes in this first meeting between the two but the Dane should be too strong to lose this match despite recent deficiencies.
