MARIANO NAVONE VS PABLO CARRENO BUSTA PREDICTION

32-year-old Pablo Carreno Busta last played a tour-level match at the Rotterdam Open in 2023, suffering an elbow injury that kept him away from tennis until last October and then undergoing surgery to see him miss the next eight months up until now. The Spaniard was a quality threat on hardcourts and clay at his best, reaching the quarter-finals here on two occasions in 2017 and 2020, but it remains to be seen if he can make a comeback from such a serious injury.

23-year-old Mariano Navone will, remarkably, be seeded on his debut at Roland-Garros after enjoying an incredible breakthrough season this year. The Argentine brings a career-high ATP world ranking of 31st into Paris after winning the Cagliari Challenger earlier this month but he has struggled a little at tour-level since a tight exit to eventual champion Matteo Berrettini in the semi-finals of the Marrakech Open.

Back Navone to win outright for caution’s sake, with PCB well capable of racing out of the blocks before running out of steam.
