THE PREDICTION
23-year-old Mariano Navone continued his excellent breakthrough season on tour with a comeback over former number three Stan Wawrinka on Thursday. The Argentine finished runner-up to Sebastian Baez at the Rio 500 in February before missing the entire of March but he looks recovered and ready to thrive on the coming clay, with this a huge opportunity to make successive semi-finals. World number 67 Aleksandar Vukic overcame second seed Sebastian Ofner in three very tight sets, winning the first and third -set tiebreaks 13-11 and 9-7. The 27-year-old may struggle to recover from such an arduous effort overnight but Navone was in a real battle on Thursday too, although in his brief spell on tour the Argentine has shown the better affinity with clay.
