World number 17 Ben Shelton beat 18-year-old Martin Landaluce in straight sets on Sunday to avoid an early upset and he should be able to roll through to the round of 16 in this winnable fixture. World number 24 Lorenzo Musetti has endured some woeful form on hardcourts, his least effective surface by far, over the past few months but he grabbed an encouraging straight-sets win over Roman Safiullin to suggest a corner could be turned back on his favoured clay next month. The Italian beat a very green Shelton in three sets on grass last summer at Queen’s but the American looks the overwhelming favourite in these conditions, particularly as the highest ranked home hopeful left on the ATP side of the draw. Back Shelton to use the crowd to win in straight sets.
