World number 19 Liudmila Samsonova came back from a set down to beat Leylah Fernandez on Tuesday, backing-up a shock opener over an out-of-sorts Barbora Krejcikova. The 25-year-old is a serious threat on all courts once she finds some rhythm but clay has tended to be her least effective. Back Haddad-Maia to earn at least a set as the more comfortable clay-courter in this quality first encounter between the two.
