THE PREDICTION

Current world number 31 Veronika Kudermetova has also produced two big upsets this week, taking out Victoria Azarenka on Tuesday before coming back from a set down to beat the defending champion Garbine Muguruza. The Russian has won both previous meetings with Teichmann in two tight three-set battles on clay at the Gstaad Open in 2018 and Lugano Open a year later and this looks to be on a knife-edge once again.
Given the opponents she has defeated and her 2-0 record over Teichmann, taking Kudermetova to earn at least a set as the likelier winner seems the sensible call in a match that will probably need a decider.
