THE PREDICTION
This could be one of the best matches of the day between world number 12 Grigor Dimitrov, who awakened from a slumber to dismiss Yannick Hanfmann 6-1 6-0 on Monday, and world number nine Hubert Hurkacz, who overcame home hopeful Sebastian Korda in impressive three sets. 32-year-old Dimitrov holds a surprising 4-0 lead in their head-to-head record, most recently beating the Pole in three sets en-route to the Paris Masters final late last season, but three of their four encounters have needed a decider to settle them and three of four have seen at least a tiebreak to suggest this will come tight. Seven of Hurkacz’s last eight matches on tour have seen three sets and all eight of them have seen at least a tiebreak to offer plenty of alternatives to picking a result here. Given Dimitrov’s record over the Pole, back the Bulgarian to earn at least a set and add at least a tiebreak for good measure.
TIP: GRIGOR DIMITROV TO WIN A SET (AND OVER 0.5 TIEBREAKS)
