GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD VS HUGO GASTON PREDICTION
20-year-old Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 106th after receiving a walkover through his first quarter-finals at tour-level but he has earned his place after upsetting Lorenzo Sonego on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old impressed in a run to the last eight of the Bordeaux Challenger last week, upsetting Alexander Shevchenko before defeat to Gregoire Barrere, but this is something of a unique test against compatriot Hugo Gaston, who stunned fourth seed Francisco Cerundolo in three sets on Wednesday.
23-year-old Gaston will move back inside the top 90 on tour after coming through qualifying to upset Cerundolo, thrilling the Lyon crowd as he so often does on home soil, but it remains to be seen how he fares against a fellow native – and an up-and-coming youngster at that. Back Gaston to earn at least a set on form this week but leave this match out of any promising accumulators.
