World number 81 Thiago Monteiro grabbed a mini upset over Jason Kubler on Thursday, beating the in-form Aussie in straight sets. The 28-year-old enjoyed some strong results on his favoured clay last month and he could be about to reach new heights on the incoming swing but this looks way too steep of a climb against world number six Felix Auger-Aliassime. 22-year-old Auger-Aliassime has struggled to assert himself on draws for much of this season but he won his first four ATP titles last season to establish himself as a top 10 star with plenty more to come. The Canadian reached the quarter-finals at Indian Wells last week before defeat to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz and the conditions in Miami should suit him much better than the desert.
