FELIPE ALVES VS CASPER RUUD PREDICTION
World number seven Casper Ruud has inherited the best-of-the-rest position on clay from two-time former finalist Dominic Thiem in recent years, finishing runner-up to Rafael Nadal in 2022 and Novak Djokovic last summer in straight sets each.
The 25-year-old’s 31-9 record sees him with more wins on tour than anyone else but exits to Felix Auger-Aliassime in Madrid and Miomir Kecmanovic in Rome should be below his standards on his favoured clay. Ruud brings a four-match winning streak into Paris after claiming the 12th ATP title of his career in Geneva last weekend but it remains to be seen how he fares later in the draw given rain delays forced him to play his semi-final and final on the same day.
The Norwegian has, however, been afforded a kind break as tough draw Jakub Mensik was forced to pull out of their fixture, with Felipe Alves stepping in from a solid qualifying campaign. Back Ruud to hit the ground running in straight sets against the world number 137.
