World number 149 Elsa Jacquemot received a wildcard to make her fourth appearance at Roland-Garros, where she won the Girl’s Singles title back in 2020. The 21-year-old won her first match here to reach the second round in 2022 but this looks a steep task against clay-court lover Ana Bogdan, who reached the third round in 2021.
World number 64 Bogdan was forced to retire injured in the first match of the Paris Challenger two weeks ago but she should have recovered in time to play the favourite in this first encounter with Jacquemot but this will be a steep task as the villain of the piece.
