THE PREDICTION
26-year-old Alejandro Tabilo will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 45th after an impressive ousting of Luciano Darderi and he will be backed to the hilt as the last remaining Chilean in the draw, facing the player that ousted the favourite. World number 140 Corentin Moutet stunned top seed Nicolas Jarry in a masterclass of game dismantling on Friday, edging past a relative giant in two tiebreaks to prove his ability in these conditions. The Frenchman is certainly of top 40 quality at his best, particularly on clay, but injuries have set him back considerably over the past 12 months to make this a hugely important run in Santiago. Tabilo won his maiden ATP title at the Auckland Classic in January to prove he has the mettle for a deep run but Moutet is one of those firebrand players who often thrives in playing the villain away from home. Given Moutet’s campaign so far, back the diminutive Frenchman to win at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.
