COCO GAUFF VS TAMARA ZIDANSEK PREDICTION
World number three Coco Gauff conceded just two games to qualifier Julia Avdeeva on Monday but this will be a tougher test if Tamara Zidansek brings her best to their first encounter.
The 26-year-old set a career-high WTA world ranking of 22nd after a shock run to the semi-finals here three years ago but she has declined rapidly since, having to qualify the hard way this time around at world number 131. A three-set opener over Alison Van Uytvanck is a solid enough result but Gauff’s game is well-suited to the graft of a clay court and she is likelier to cope with the adverse conditions in what has been a cold, soggy French Open so far.
Gauff reached the semi-finals of the Italian Open last time out, before defeat to Iga Swiatek, and it should take a top 10 player at least to oust her this fortnight. Back the American to win in straight sets.
COCO GAUFF VS TAMARA ZIDANSEK TIP: COCO GAUFF TO WIN 2-0
