CHLOE PAQUET VS DIANA SHNAIDER PREDICTION
World number 139 Chloe Pacquet received a wildcard to the main draw at Roland-Garros as a home hopeful here in Paris but she has failed to win each of her last five first round matches here. The 29-year-old has enjoyed some strong results on the ITF circuit in recent weeks but this looks too steep of a challenge against rising star Diana Shnaider, who brings a career-high WTA world ranking of 47th into the draw.
20-year-old Shnaider finished runner-up to Ons Jabeur at the Ningbo Open last September but she claimed her maiden title at the Hua Hin Championships in February to maintain excellent progress. The Russian also won the Paris Challenger last weekend, beating a quality field including Emma Navarro, to bring some eye-catching form into Roland-Garros and she has been handed a winnable opener here. Back the Russian to come through in two.
