THE PREDICTION

World number 12 Grigor Dimitrov came back from a set down to extend his surprising now 5-0 head-to-head record over 2021 Miami Open champion Hubert Hurkacz on Tuesday but this looks too steep of a step up. The 32-year-old required Daniil Medvedev to oust him from the round of 16 at Indian Wells last time out but next opponent Carlos Alcaraz beat Medvedev in the final in the desert and he made it nine wins on the spin after a solid result over Lorenzo Musetti. The 20-year-old beat Dimitrov en-route to his era-defining Wimbledon triumph last summer, taking a 3-0 lead in their head-to-head, but Dimitrov made full use of Alcaraz’s poor post-Wimbledon period in Shanghai last October to pull one back. Dimitrov snapped a six-year title drought with victory at the Brisbane International in January, beating Holger Rune in the final, but he has failed to beat a top 10 player since to look a little under his early season form. Back Alcaraz to win in straight sets.

TIP: CARLOS ALCARAZ TO WIN 2-0
