THE PREDICTION
World number 13 Cam Norrie got his Delray Beach Open campaign off to a good start with a straight-sets win over Oscar Otte. The 26-year-old will be enjoying his time back in the USA after a stunning run to the Indian Wells title last October became the icing on the cake for a stellar 2021 season. World number 41 Sebastian Korda also won his first ATP title in 2021 and he should be targeting the top 30 at least this season given the quality he has shown at the more prestigious tournaments. The 21-year-old is yet to drop a set this week with two strong wins over Thanasi Kokkinakis and Andreas Seppi.
Korda has never dropped a set against Cam Norrie in two previous meetings, their first coming in the semi-finals here last season and their second just last month at the Australian Open. The American clearly knows something about Norrie’s game that plenty of others have struggled to work out over the last 12 months an that make staking him to win at least a set the sensible move here. The outright pick is reasonable but a risk, with former college player Norrie winning his unlikely Masters title on US soil.
