THE PREDICTION

This could be a nervy clash between two players desperately seeking form on tour. 28-year-old Botic van de Zandschulp set a career-high ATP world ranking of 22nd in late 2022 but he has struggled to find any sort of consistency since the start of 2023 and he dropped outside the top 100 this week following a sorry exit in Munich, where he had twice finished runner-up to Holger Rune.

World number 44 Christopher Eubanks set a career-high of 29th last summer after his incredible run to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon but he endured a tough spell on the hardcourt swing and clay has rarely been kind to the tall, powerful American. A straight-sets defeat to Rinky Hijikata last time out in Houston suggests Eubanks will struggle between now and a return to the grass in June but Van de Zandschulp, who beat Eubanks in Auckland at the start of the year, brings low confidence and very little form. Back the Dutchman to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.

TIP: BOTIC VAN DE ZANDSCHULP TO WIN A SET
