29-year-old Benjamin Hassan will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 147th after qualifying for his first ever Masters level draw here in Madrid. The Lebanese enjoyed a run to the quarter-finals of the Challenger event held here two weeks ago to bring some solid practice in the unique altitude of this city into the biggest match of his career but former number 12 Borna Coric should be too good to suffer an upset. The current number 34 has lost each of his last two matches on tour but he reached the semi-finals here last season, losing to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets, and he tends to find his better tennis at the more prestigious events.
