World number 69 Benjamin Bonzi conceded just four games to an out of sorts Aslan Karatsev on Friday for one of, if not the best, win of his career so far. The 25-year-old is the last Frenchman standing in Marseille and having reached the semi-finals without dropping a set he must no longer be underestimated. World number seven Andrey Rublev has often been found wanting against players he should be beating in recent months and that almost came to pass yesterday as he overcame Lucas Pouille in three sets. The 24-year-old is the solid favourite to find a way through here of course but he has twice been pushed to three sets by French players at Open 13 this campaign and that make staking him as the outright winner a necessary concession. It would not be a huge surprise to see Bonzi ride his current wave all the way to the final, though.
