THE PREDICTION

World number 13 Belinda Bencic burst onto the scene here in Toronto back in 2015, winning her maiden WTA title as a teenager. The Swiss claimed the sixth of her career back in April at the Charleston Open on clay to give her at least one trophy on all three surfaces but her biggest achievement to date came last summer with two Gold Medals won at the Olympic Games. Former world number one Victoria Azarenka is coming off a disappointing loss to Xiyu Wang at the Citi Open on Friday, with her recent form well below her high standards. The 33-year-old is at her best in these conditions and on this surface but she is yet to win the Canadian Open, with seven Masters titles amongst her career total of 21 including two from the Western & Southern Open due next week Bencic has lost both of her meetings with Azarenka so far but at this moment of their respective careers she looks the reasonable favourite. Back the Swiss to win outright here, or at least a set inside an accumulator. .
