THE PREDICTION
Expect an entertaining scrap between two players fond of a highlights reel as world number 23 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and number 42 Arthur Fils meet for the fourth time within the past 10 months. 24-year-old Davidovich Fokina leads their head-to-head 2-1 as things stand but Fils won their only hardcourt encounter, and most recently, at the Shanghai Masters last October to suggest this could be their tightest clash yet in conditions that should suit both. 19-year-old Fils put some recent poor form aside to beat Nuno Borges in the first round but he has failed to win back-to-back matches since making the semi-finals of the Auckland Classic back in January. Davidovich Fokina reached the semi-finals of the Canada Masters last summer to prove himself much more than a clay aficionado but he has peaked and troughed wildly for the best part of two seasons to become one of the more unpredictable players on tour. Back the Spaniard to earn at least a set, having won six of their nine played so far, to leave the victor up to chance.
TIP: ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA TO WIN A SET
